Ethan was born totally blind in 2004. In 2022, at the age of 18, he was the winner of the piano section and a Grand Finalist of BBC Young Musician of the Year. As well as continuing studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Ethan is a frequent concerto and solo recital performer.
